I struggled a bit today. We had to say a temporary goodbye to Myer yesterday so that he can finish upn his training in Wilmington for the next two weeks. It was a really hard goodbye. My children keep asking where he is and tell me they miss him. I cried and said that I missed him too.
But on a happy note... We will be all going to Wilmington, NC in two weeks so that my husband and Myer can do their mock public access test and bring that sweet puppy home.
This is such a special thing for us. And we are only able to get Myer for my husband because someone before us raised the money to pay it forward. This is why it is so important to us and we are working so hard to raise money ourselves. We want to give one of these wonderful dogs to a veteran who needs one. Too many suffer alone and don't think there is anything that can help or feel they can afford a service dog. These dogs do not cost the veteran anything. .. because of pay it forward campaigns like this one.
I am willing to take as many needles as you out there will give me, just so we can help and probably save the life of at least one person.
