As I was wondering the dealer's room at Dragon Con, desperately looking for a way out of the maze of merchants, artists, and people.... I heard voices that completely stroked a fetish for me. Lovely English accents, yes that is a big fetish for me. Anyway, I look over at a table displayed with mostly dark covered comics, a sign stating it was the highest selling comic in the UK (or something of that vain) and two cute British men standing behind it. Neil was explaining how he came too write this series of dark comedies. His friend, Will, was constantly updating a board showing the name of the last person to buy a book. My funds were pretty tight at that moment so they were nice enough to give me a free electronic copy... not that I was special, they did this for anyone who wanted to read it but didn't have the money right then to buy.
NSo I finally got around to reading this comic. Twisted Dark vol 1 is well... dark and twisted... and funny. I like Neil's odd sense of irony that is present in every little story. The stories interconnect in interesting ways, I didn't actually know they were a going to do that so I was presently surprised. The art was a bit on the rough and sketchy side. Not a bad thing, it added more depth to the characters and settings. I really enjoyed reading this comic/graphic novel. I highly recommend to go to
